Tuition Programme - Parental Referral

Dear Parent or Guardian,

Barnet Young Carers works in partnership with Express Tuition Ltd to deliver tuition support to young carers aged 8 – 24 who need support in one of the following areas:

• Core subjects: English, Maths and Science
• Exams preparation: GCSE, A LEVELS, SAT, 11+
• Learning of a modern language
• Vocational or employment support

Tuition support is arranged directly by our partner Express Tuition. The support consists of 10 hourly sessions of online tuition in the selected area, delivered over a period of 5 to maximum 10 weeks, depending on the availability of tutors.

For a referral to be accepted the parent/guardian wishing to refer a child must upload evidence that his/her child needs such a support. This can be their latest school report or any other school or professional document where it can clearly be evidenced that support is needed in a certain area. No parental referral will be accepted without evidence of support being uploaded as part of completion of the referral form.

By submitting this form, you consent for the information provided on this form to being shared with Express Tuition, who will contact you directly to arrange your child’s tuition if your child’s place is confirmed.

Please note that this is a high demanded programme and there is a waiting list now with an estimated waiting period of three weeks to put new tuition in place for newly referred children. We appreciate your understanding and patience as we work with our partner to shorten the waiting time.

Priority would be given to children who have not had tuition for the first time and to those students who require GCSE tuition. If your child has had tuition during the last six months he/she would be put in the waiting list but additional waiting time will be expected.
